The Disney Treasure has traveled across the Atlantic and has finally arrived in Port Canaveral. It will soon take its maiden voyage, but first it needs to be Christened. And, we can watch this ship’s special event that will include magical moments and even include a first look at the ship!
Disney Treasure
Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Treasure, will unlock the far-reaching realms of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel and embrace dynamic tales from beloved Disney Parks attractions, through captivating and immersive experiences on the high seas.
The Disney Treasure’s team tested SEVEN new Disney melodies for the new ship’s horn sounds. These sounds were picked to coincide with the ships theming of daring tales and adventure! Sounds include, “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” “Remember Me,” and “A Whole New World.”
Can you guess which one they played coming into Port Canaveral? It played “A Whole New World” and the welcoming crowd loved it!
Transatlantic Journey
The Disney Treasure took a transatlantic journey from Eemshaven, Netherlands to Port Canaveral, Florida. On this trip, crew members were put to the test.
On Sunday, November 10th, the Disney Treasure rescued four people from a sinking catamaran.
A small boat was launched from the Treasure and all four passengers were rescued. Thankfully everyone was safe and no medical issues were reported. You can read all the details regarding this rescue HERE.
Arrival and Christening
At about 6:00 am on Tuesday, November 12th, the Disney Treasure sailed into Port Canaveral. The ship was welcomed by Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie and over 250 Disney cast members, spectators, and media.

The maiden voyage is a few weeks later. It is a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, on December 21, 2024.
