Would You Wait in this Massive Line at Universal

While no one likes a long line, theme park fans from far and wide know that some things are worth waiting for! But, today, Universal’s longest wait time isn’t even for a ride. Would you wait for it?

Everyone knows that during the busy seasons, lines at theme parks can become massive. This is why theme parks capitalize on systems that let you skip the standby line. For example, Universal sells Universal Express Pass. You can learn about it HERE and see whether it is worth the cost HERE.

Some people even wake up early to avoid huge lines, but today that strategy didn’t work out so well for some Guests. People arrived at the Universal Orlando parking garage before 6 a.m. to be met with a massive wait.

What are they waiting for exactly? They are waiting for early access to the legendary Universal Garage Sale! And, this is one line you can’t skip!

What is the Universal Garage Sale

Universal hosts a discounted merch event that fans love called the Universal Garage Sale to clear the shelves at retail stores around Universal to make room for more. It is no wonder it is so popular.

At the Universal Garage Sale, shoppers can enjoy 70% off the retail cost of discounted merchandise. That means it is possible to find cheap Loungefly bags, T-shirts, Plush Toys, popcorn buckets, and more. This year’s Garage sale is happening now on November 16, November 17, and November 18.

Annual Passholders get early access to the event, and the general public can join later. A lot of the merchandise this time comes from Halloween and Halloween Horror Nights, but there is plenty of Harry Potter merch, Grinch items, and other fun things from around Universal Orlando to be found as well.

Massive Waits

Lots of UOAP holders had the same idea: get there before the parking garage opens and be early to hop in line. Some arrived as early as 5:45 for the sale that began at 7:00 a.m.

While this strategy worked out well for the first people to head in for shopping, many visitors have reported huge waits with chaotic crowds that rival Rope Drop. Waits to shop have reportedly ranged from 2-4 hours. At times, the line has come to a standstill. And it seems to be a bit chaotic.

Hopefully, everyone remembers to be kind to the Team Members who make it all happen and to one another. If you are braving the garage sale, stay safe, and happy shopping!
