Premier Pass is the ultimate skip the standby line service, allowing Guests the opportunity to also skip reserving a return time. Now, the service is changing just weeks after it first debuted.
Premier Pass
For years, Disney Guests have wanted a simple system that allows them to skip the traditional standby queue without the complications of arrival windows and being on a phone all day. Disney has made so many changes in the last 5 years that it is hard to keep up with all of it!
Disney just debuted a new add-on service called Lightning Lane Premier Pass (Premier Pass or LLPP for short), which allows Guests to enter the Lightning Lane entrance without booking an arrival window.
If you are familiar with Express Pass at Universal Studios, it is very similar to that. All you have to do is purchase LLPP in the app, select the attraction you wish to redeem, and scan the barcode at the Lightning Lane entrance. You can read everything you need to know about LLPP in this post.
Expansion
This new expansion is for Disney World only. Now, LLPP is open to all Guests staying at a Disney World Resort Hotel.
Previously, Guests staying at a Deluxe/DVC Resort, Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green were eligible to purchase LLPP. At the time we were unsure if that would ever change.
However, that changed pretty quickly! Premier Pass just debuted a month ago.
What does this mean for you?
First, it’s important to note that Guests who are staying offsite are not able to purchase Premier Pass at this time. This is only available to those who are staying onsite.
Second, Disney stresses the fact that Premier Pass is still very limited in quantity. Just because the number of people who can purchase has grown does not mean there will be more availability.
We have already seen Premier Pass sell out for Thanksgiving at Magic Kingdom. Despite the high price tag, it can and will sell out during busy holidays.
Are you eligible to buy Premier Pass now? Will you buy it for your next trip? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with your friends.
