It looks like it’s almost time to play the music and light the lights! Disney has announced a major retheme for Disney”s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we cannot wait!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
There has been a lot of speculation swirling around for Disney’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction has undergone lengthy refurbishments a few times, leading many fans to wonder if a possible retheme would be announced.
Today, Walt Disney World has announced a major Muppet retheme for Disney’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster!
If you have been following along real closely, this is not the first time we have heard about this. This was leaked a little over a year ago. You can read about that HERE. No real confirmation regarding this possible retheme was given at the time, and the tweet regarding it was quickly removed.
Muppet Retheme
Today, Walt Disney World confirmed a Muppets retheme of the popular attraction. Here is the official announcement:
We know so many of you share our love for The Muppets and know their energy will be a perfect fit for this coaster. Plus, as the first Disney ride ever to feature The Muppets, there’s sure to be laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure and plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard!
Disney indicated that there is still plenty of time to enjoy the attraction as it is now before the retheming takes place. No timeline has been given at this time.
Monsters, Inc. Update
Disney also provided an update for the new Monsters, Inc. land. The new land will include “a whole new theater show” in the Muppet*Vision 3D theater.

We are happy and excited to see that the Muppets will still be a part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This is exciting news!
