Disney Drops the Virtual Queue for One of its Attractions

Disney utilizes virtual queues for popular attractions in order to keep the crowds at bay and wait times low. However, one was just dropped from the lineup!

One new(ish) option for riding attractions is a virtual queue. Disney began implementing them shortly after Rise of the Resistance opened. They are a way for Disney to control the standby line for new attractions, merchandise releases, and more.

At Disney World, you can join a virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Cosmic Rewind, and the Santa Claus meet and greet at Disney Springs.

Disneyland virtual queues include Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Haunted Mansion Holiday, and World of Color.

However, we can take Haunted Mansion Holiday off the list of virtual queues we need to join! The ride closed earlier this year to make way for new grounds, gift shop, and more.

When the attraction reopened in August, the extended standby queue was still inaccessible. Therefore, Disney needed to implement a virtual queue that would send Guests through the Lightning Lane instead.

While the new gift shop is still under construction, the new standby line and grounds are open!

What does this mean for you?

By dropping this virtual queue, it does mean you have one less queue to worry about getting into. However, if you wanted to ride twice – once with the queue and once with Multi Pass that is no longer an option.

As a reminder, the holiday version of this attraction will end in early 2025. It will need to close for several weeks in order to get all the decorations taken down. Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond retail gift shop will open at some point this winter.
