New Disney Vacation Club Hotel to Open in 2027

Disney Vacation Club has announced that they will be opening a new hotel in 2027. Here is what we know so far.

Reflections

Back in 2018, Disney World announced they would build an all-new nature-inspired resort on the site of the old River Country water park near Fort Wilderness. We saw work begin to clear out the area begin in 2019 – including Mickey’s BBQ at Fort Wilderness. All progress stopped in 2020.

It was so to be located between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness and categorized as a deluxe resort with more than 900 hotel rooms and DVC villas.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Today, Disney Vacation Club has announced that Disney Lakeshore Lodge will replace Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. This new resort will be in the same footprint that was planned for the Reflections.

The new DVC resort is expected to open in 2027! Disney stated that the resort is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

What does this mean for you?

At this time there has been no new artwork released, only a name and projected opening date. Will this new resort resemble Reflections? Is it just a name change? Will the walking path from The Fort to the Wilderness Lodge reopen after its completion?

You may hear or see construction of this new resort if staying at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

If you are staying at Fort Wilderness Campground or Disney’s Wilderness Lodge you may hear or see some construction during your stay. You will definitely see and hear the construction when taking the boat from The Fort to Magic Kingdom.
