The Thanksgiving travel period is underway, but the busiest day is still to come! It is projected for December 1st to be the busiest day of the Thanksgiving weekend, seeing a total of 181,688 arriving and departing passengers!

Orlando International Airport expects to see over 1.9 million passengers over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

Even with numbers expected to be less than last year, this is sure to be a busy period. Can you believe this isn’t even MCO’s busiest day on record? Check out when they had their busiest day HERE.

Be sure to pack your patience for this busy travel period. With the projected busiest day of Thanksgiving weekend travel still ahead of us, be sure to utilize the 3-2-1 timeline. This will help ensure you will be on time for your flight.

The 3-2-1 timeline is as follows: be at the ticket counter at least 3 hours before your departure time. Be sure to head to security 2 hours before your departure time, and be at your gate 1 hour before your departure time.

Other recommendations from the airport include: be patient, do not bring guns or weapons through security, take security very seriously (no joking comments), do not leave bags unattended, if traveling with pets be sure to have them on a leash when the carrier is being screened, and be sure to place identification on the outside of all luggage (checked and carry-on).

Safe travels crew!
