Animal Kingdom Closures
DinoLand is about to be extinct at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. An entire new land is on the way. It is set to be themed around Tropical Americas! We can’t wait to see Welcome to Pueblo Esperanza!
In January 2025, TriceraTop Spin will be the first ride to close. Fossil Fun and Games and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will close. Get full dates and details HERE.
With much of the land closing to make room for this new imagining. Disney shares that we will have a bit longer to enjoy DINOSAUR a few more times.
New Refurbishment
Refurbishment news is never welcome, although essential throughout the Disney Parks. Now joining the DinoLand closures in January is a refurbishment to Kali River Rapids.
Kali River Rapids is set to close on January 6, 2025. A reopening date is not yet set for this annual refurbishment.
Typically, Kali River Rapids closes in January for a refurbishment, which is pretty good planning. Guests become pretty wet on this thrilling attraction, which is best enjoyed in warmer months.
What you need to know
As in years past, we expect Kali River Rapids to reopen in March 2025. This will be great for spring break guests and for guests heading into the summer months.
Kali River Rapids will close for refurbishment on January 6, 2025, with no reopening date set.
This does take away yet another attraction when Disney’s Animal Kingdom is already losing quite a few attractions in January 2025. This may be a great time to earn your Wilderness Explorer badges throughout the park.
