Another Magic Kingdom Refurbishment is on the Way

It’s apparently refurbishment season in Walt Disney World. Here is another attraction closure announcement to be aware of so you can manage your expectations when you visit the magic.

Refurbishments, Refurbishments Everywhere

There are a lot of refurbishments and permanent closures on the books for Walt Disney World right now. It is truly going to be in a state of becoming in the foreseeable future.

For example, multiple attractions in DinoLand U.S.A are on the way out to make way for Central Americas featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones. Here is the closing timeline for DINOSAUR and here is what we know about the rest of DinoLand.

Over in EPCOT, Test Track is down for an overhaul. And, in the Magic Kingdom, there is so much going on. Astro Orbiter will be out of commission and so will Big Thunder Mountain. And the list is only growing!

Another Refurbishment

At least the next refurbishment to join the list is not totally unexpected. Every time a new President (or in this case, a returning President) is elected, it means the Hall of Presidents must be changed!

And, as expected, the Hall of Presidents will close for refurbishment once Donald Trump takes office. The attraction will close on January 20, 2025.

This will mean that at least three Magic Kingdom attractions will all be closed at the same time. Fortunately, they are spread across multiple areas of the park.

So far, there is no reopening timeline for Hall of Presidents. However, the 2021 refurbishment might give us a clue. After the attraction closed to add Joe Biden, it did not reopen until August 2021.

Of course, since there is already a Donald Trump animatronic, perhaps the process will move along more swiftly. Then again you never know with Disney.
