Bluey has captured the hearts of fans all over the world. The children’s program isn’t just an animated series about a family of Australian blue heelers, it is a global phenomenon that both children and adults adore.

Fans of the show were delighted to learn that they can finally expect to see a feature-length Bluey Movie hit theatres. Here are all the details!

But, some suspected that an announcement this huge might ultimately turn a little bittersweet. Many wonder what the production of a movie would mean for the show itself. And, now we know.

Joe Brumm, the creator of Bluey, already pressed pause on the show once. And, he has publicly said that he “wouldn’t keep making Bluey if it wasn’t as good as the one that came before.” And, now he is circling back to those words.

In a letter to fans, Brumm stated, “I always said I wouldn’t keep making the show if I thought I couldn’t make any new season as good as the last. This would have been the case for me with a potential season four, so I’ve decided to take a break from my involvement in the TV series. In the event I can’t wrap my head around doing more seasons myself, The Sign will mark my TV finale for Bluey and I wrote it as such.

He went on to say, “To walk away from it while it’s at such a height will seem crazy to some but, for now, I am finding it difficult to reach back genuinely into that four to six-year-old world and write authentically.”

Is this the End of Bluey

No one is saying that this is the end for Bluey. No one is saying there won’t eventually be a season four.

Brumm said as much himself. “To be clear, this is not an announcement about the end of the show, but it is an acknowledgment that my focus will be on the film.

We are all so excited about the movie. And while more episodes of Bluey would be awesome, it is refreshing to hear from a creator who wants to maintain the quality of what he created.
