Did you know that Disney World offers religious Christmas Eve services on property for those who celebrate? Here is when and where you can attend.
Christmas in Disney World
Christmas is a magical time in Disney World. Not only are there special parties in the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but there is an entire Festival of the Holidays in EPCOT, and there are special touches in Disney’s Animal Kingdom like the Merry Menagerie.
Of course, there are plenty of secular activities to celebrate the holiday season during a visit to Walt Disney World. However, there are also offerings for those who choose to celebrate through religious worship.
Many people know about the Candlelight Processional, a beautiful presentation of the Christmas Story over in EPCOT. But, did you know that you can also attend a religious Christmas Eve service if you wish?
Christmas Eve Mass
This year, you can attend a religious service in Walt Disney World on Christmas Eve. Catholic Mass will be available on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
Christmas Eve Mass happens at 5:00 PM in the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It is certain to fill up, so arrive early.
There will also be protestant services available via live stream. These are at 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM. Please, refer to the Contemporary Resort activities for details on connecting.
Getting There
If you are already staying at the Contemporary, or you are in the Magic Kingdom and wish to attend, getting to the ballroom will be easy for you. You can simply walk or take the Monorail from the Magic Kingdom. There will also be a dedicated shuttle bus for the service from the Magic Kingdom, which runs beginning at 4:00 PM.
A dedicated shuttle will run from the Magic Kingdom to the service begining at 4:00 PM.
If you are somewhere else on Disney property, you will first need to head to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer to the bus. Since parking restrictions are in place at the Contemporary, it will be best for you to use Disney Transportation to get there.
Have you ever attended religious services at Disney World? What did you think? Let us know, and be sure to share the news with your friends and family who are planning a visit and would like to attend the Christmas Eve service.
