Holiday Crowds

The holidays are so magical at Walt Disney World Resort. It is no wonder that they bring with them PEAK crowd levels.

Although Walt Disney World may seem quite busy throughout the year, there is no type of crowd like Disney Holiday Crowds.  People flock there in droves to enjoy the season.

Not only are the festivities at the world-class theme parks a draw, but the special decorations and food options at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are also so popular that people want to visit regardless of whether they are staying at the resorts.

Closed Parking

At this time of year, Walt Disney World restricts parking for only guests staying at each resort. However, there is a new issue brewing over at Fort Wilderness this holiday season.

Fort Wilderness guests were greeted by signs stating, “Howdy Folks! Due to our parking closure, all additional trailers will need to be parked at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort: Riverside for overnight parking. Towing will be enforced.

Guests are invited to visit the Fort Wilderness front desk to receive assistance and a map with the designated parking areas. To our understanding, guests may park their vehicle behind their RV, if there is space. If not, they then must park their vehicle at Port Orleans: Riverside.

Hard Closure

Due to the large crowds staying at Fort Wilderness, there is also a hard closure in effect for this resort. This will limit access to guests with a resort or dining reservation ONLY.

Typically, guests can add a “Day Guest” to their resort reservation. For this hard closure, this option will not be available. If you are hoping to visit Disney’s Fort Wilderness & Campground for the holiday festivities, you will need to make a dining reservation as soon as possible.
