Disney World is Now Expecting Even More Crowds for New Year

New Year’s week is one of the 3 busiest weeks of each year at Disney World. However, Disney World is expecting even more crowds into this new year.

There is no way to sugar coat that Disney World is BUSY this week. Just a quick look in the My Disney Experience App, and you will find wait times on some of our favorite rides shocking! Guests are easily waiting two to three hours or more for some of the headliners in each park. Avatar: Flight of Passage has crossed 4 hour waits multiple times!

Crowds have arrived at Disney World.

Another way to tell that Disney World is busy is the selling out of the Lightning Lane MultiPass and Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

A sure sign of Disney themselves expecting higher crowds is later park hours and more Fantasmic! showings. Disney has done just that for Thursday, January 2nd and Friday, January 3rd.

An additional showing of Fantasmic! has been added to January 2nd and January 3rd.

There are now three showings of Fantasmic! on Thursday and Friday this week. Showtimes are at 6 PM, 8 PM and 9:30 PM.

If this is a show you want to see, be sure to arrive early for your desired showing. Disney states you can arrive as early as 90 minutes prior to each show, but be sure to have your entire party with you. The final show is generally the most quiet of them and the first show is usually the busiest.

No matter the crowd level, we always recommend having a good park touring strategy, and you can get that at CharacterLocator.com.
