Disney is always changing and evolving. As Walt said, “keep moving forward.” They are currently testing out a new check out process at this dining location. Find out what and where they are testing this new process.
All Star Sports
One of the three All-Star resorts is All-Star Sports. It sounds exactly as you would expect: a sports theme. Since this is a value resort, Disney really went above and beyond with the large theming.
This is my (Heather’s) favorite All Star. Read HERE why I love staying at All Star Sports for my runDisney trips.
The larger than life statues and team colors are perfect for any sports enthusiast. Value resorts are synonymous with reasonable prices and accommodations and amenities geared towards children and families.
AI Comes to End Zone Food Court
The quick service option at All Star Sports is the End Zone Food Court. It has been reported that Disney has recently started trialing a new check out process here.
Guests can pay for their purchase at a self check out register that is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
When Guests are ready to check out with their food items, they can go to a self checkout register. Guests are instructed to place their tray underneath the scanner. Items are to be spread out on the tray for scanning.
Guests then verify that all items have been scanned (or scanned correctly) and complete the transaction. Cast Members are standing by for assistance if needed.
What Does This Mean for You?
Currently, this self checkout is only in the trial period. The hope is that this will speed up the checkout process and Guests can get through the food court more quickly. It will also reduce the number of Cast Members used in the checkout process.
If the self checkout powered by AI is a success, Guests can expect to see this rollout to more locations throughout Disney World.
If this trial is a success, Guest can expect to see this self checkout roll out at more locations throughout Disney World. Personally, I like having a Cast Member throughout the checkout process and having the personal interaction versus a self checkout option.
What do you think of this new self checkout? Would you like to see it come to more locations throughout Disney World or would you like to see it disappear? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to share this post with your friends!
