Many still question the high price of staying on property at the Walt Disney World Resort, with so many favorite amenities removed. Now, a new Disney Resort perk is unavailable. Find out what you need to know about this new “perk.”
New Resort Perk
Staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts offers a few perks. One of the best perks of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is Early Theme Park Hours. All guests utilizing this benefit can take advantage of entering the parks 30 minutes before the parks officially open.
Guests staying at select resorts can enjoy Extended Evening Hours on select nights. Of course, many enjoy using the various modes of free Disney transportation throughout Walt Disney World.
New for 2025 packages, Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can enjoy admission to one of the water parks on check-in day! This is included with your stay.
Perk Unavailable
Many Walt Disney World guests traveling to the “Sunshine State” are surprised at the current forecast. It is quite chilly by Florida standards, and this cooler pattern will continue for the next week.
Due to cooler temperatures, Disney will close Blizzard Beach Water Park on Saturday, January 4, 2025. At this time, normal operational hours remain for January 5th.
This is a bit disappointing for guests hoping to take advantage of this newest resort perk. Weather is definitely something to consider when planning your trip around this new perk.
Plan Ahead
Besides planning ahead due to the weather, guests also have to plan when using Walt Disney World’s free transportation. There is not a direct route from Disney Resorts to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.
Blizzard Beach is closed on Saturday, January 4, 2025, due to cooler weather.
Guests must first travel to Disney Springs and, from there, board a bus to either water park. This will add extra time both to and from the water parks unless you have your own vehicle or use a ride-share service. Find out all you need to know about a day at Blizzard Beach HERE.
