A new modified single rider option is being tested at a popular Hollywood Studios attraction. We have the details on how this new options works.
Single Rider
Single rider lines are separate lines in select attractions for those traveling solo or those that don’t mind riding the attraction without the rest of their party. Basically, single riders get placed wherever there is a seat available.
Typically, the line is much shorter than the regular standby queue, which means less waiting in line!
Attractions at Disney World that use single rider access include Expedition Everest, Test Track (under refurbishment), Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Occasionally we see Soarin’ and Rise of the Resistance offer a Single Rider Line.
Modified Single Rider Option
It has been reported that Disney is now testing a modified Single Rider option at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This new trial allows groups of two to join the line together and ride in the same cockpit.
Be aware that there is no guaranteed crew position with this riding option (example: gunner, pilot, or engineer).
This line is a separate line from the standby and lightning lane options. Guests join this line in hopes of a shorter wait than standby.
What Does This Mean for You?
As this modified single rider option is being tested, it is unknown when it will be operating or when testing will be completed. Be sure to check with the Cast Member at the ride entrance to ensure this option is available before joining the Single Rider line.
Be sure to ask the Cast Member at the ride entrance if this modified single rider option is available before joining the line.
Many people travel to the parks in pairs, and this could offer a quicker option than the traditional standby line. Some people skip the ride all together if lines are too long as they do not want to separate from their parties in a single rider option. This would be a great offer to Guests if this in fact helps reduce wait times.
