Disappointing Breakdowns and Evacuations for Magic Kingdom Entertainment

Disappointing Breakdowns and Evacuations for Magic Kingdom Entertainment

Disney parades and cavalcades are “must-do” for many guests, but lately, they are unpredictable. This week, guests never knew what to expect with broken floats and even floats being evacuated.

There is nothing quite like a day at the Magic Kingdom. It is truly the “Most Magical Place on Earth” for good reason. One thing that sets Disney Parks apart from other theme parks is the great entertainment options that delight guests throughout the day.

From multiple stage shows, awe-inspiring fireworks, cavalcades, and, of course the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Guests have so much to enjoy apart from the thrilling attractions.

Currently, guests can enjoy the Festival of Fantasy Parade at 3:00 pm and the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade at 10:30 am and 11:45 am. Be sure to follow along with Character Locator for updated showtimes, as these can change.

The Festival of Fantasy Parade was not offered from December 21st-31st to allow guests to enjoy Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. Since the Festival of Fantasy returned on January 1st, it has had multiple issues.

At first, the large hot air balloon float that closes the parade with Mickey and Minnie Mouse aboard was missing. Both characters joined another float to greet guests. Yesterday, January 4th, the first large float was missing causing all of the princes and princesses to walk along the path.

Many guests were happy to still see their favorite characters, but with the float to signal the beginning of the parade and the grand finale float missing seems a bit odd. The crowd-pleasing, Maleficient float is still part of the parade, but she has not breathed fire all week. The fire-breathing effect is often based on weather conditions. It does seem odd for multiple days for this effect to be missing.

Today, January 5th, as guests lined the streets of Frontierland, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade broke down. After some time, the characters exited, and a tow truck helped to take the float backstage.

In true Disney fashion, “The Show Must Go On” despite multiple breakdowns this week. Hopefully, all floats for the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade will be completely operational again soon.
