Adorable Baby Otters have Arrived in Disney World

This might be the best (and most precious) news you will hear this weekend. The most adorable baby otters have arrived in Walt Disney World!

If you love baby animals (or animals in general), Disney is a great place to visit. We know lots of our own Kenny the Pirate Crew members are huge animal fans.

Both EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom partner with Disney Conservation through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan. The program strives to protect the magic of wildlife, and the baby animals you find in habitats and aquariums in the park are products of the program’s careful process.

This includes the darling new Sumatran tiger cub who recently made his debut. You can check in on this little darling on Tiger Tuesdays!

New Baby Otters!

And now we have more adorable news! Disney’s animal kingdom has welcomed a litter of Asian small-clawed otter pups!

The Asian small-clawed otter is the smallest otter species. So, if you love tiny things that come in cute packages, you will be wild about these babies!

Otter mom Mae and dad Kevin are busily taking turns caring for the pups. And the animal care team is lovingly monitoring until it is time to meet the public.

Where to See Them

The babies are backstage, working to meet major milestones like eating solid foods and learning to swim. Soon they will be ready to greet guests in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

When the time comes, you will find them playing in the Otter Grotto at Discovery Island. Many guests have found delight in this exhibit, and it’s only going to get sweeter now that the pups are here!
