We have a HUGE update for Pteranodon Flyers at Universal Orlando. Keep your eye on the sky!
Pteranodon Flyers
It has been far too long since guests at Islands of Adventures at Universal Orlando Resort have been able to take to the skies courtesy of a Pteranodon! Pteranodon Flyers made it possible. This ride is unusual in that it was designed with little kids in mind! In fact, older kids, tweens, teens, and adults are only allowed to ride it when accompanied by a rider who stands 36″-56” in height!
Unfortunately, no one has been able to ride it regardless of height lately. Pteranodon Flyers closed indefinitely on April 17, 2024.
Universal Orlando Resort did not provide any sort of official reasoning for the ride’s long closure. However, rumor has it that the ride was broken and that the repairs needed would be hard to obtain. Many worried it could spell extinction for Pteranodons at Universal Orlando!
Great News for Pteranodon Flyers
But, we have great news for Pteranodon Flyers fans. The ride appears to be on its way to repair!
While we were visiting the parks recently, we noticed that the Pteranodons were soaring once again. Ride operators were testing the ride throughout the day.
This is great news as it appears the ride is at least operational. Hopefully, Universal’s team will make it safe for riders again soon!
When Will Pteranodon Flyers Reopen
Unfortunately, so far there is no reopening timeline for Pteranodon Flyers. It is still listed under Temporary Attraction Closures for Universal Islands of Adventure.
We will keep you up to date on where the Pteranodon Flyers testing leads!
However, it was so cool to see the Pteranodons soaring once more! It certainly improves the immersive atmosphere in the Jurassic Park area. We just hope it opens again before your own little tickets to ride outgrow it!
Have you ever been on Pteranodon Flyers? Do you hope to see it reopen soon? Let us know, and be sure to share the news with the dino fans in your life!
