Find Out When Disney’s Railroad and Monorail Will Reopen

Refurbishments

No one likes refurbishments that interrupt their Disney vacations. This is especially true if you have a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list trip planned. 

While there are quite literally hundreds of things to do on a Disney vacation, an attraction closure can still sting! It is especially true if the attraction is a popular e-ticket attraction or a beloved classic.

Luckily, the Disneyland Monorail and Railroad will be reopening soon after their refurbishments.

Disneyland Railroad and Monorail Closures

The Disneyland Monorail closed for refurbishment on January 6, 2025. The Disneyland Monorail has been operating since 1959! It takes passengers from Downtown Disney straight to Tomorrowland.

Both attractions closed for refurbishment. The Disneyland Monorail closed on January 6th and the Disneyland Railroad on January 13th.

The Disneyland Railroad closed for refurbishment on January 13, 2025. The railroad had only been open for a few months from a previous closure, and then it closed again!

Reopening Dates Announced

Re-opening dates have been announced and it’s sooner than we had originally thought! Both the Disneyland Railroad and the Disneyland Monorail will re-open on Friday, March 7, 2025. These refurbishments each lasted about 2 months.

The Disneyland Monorail and Disneyland Railroad will re-open on Friday, March 7, 2025!

This is great news for Guests visiting Disneyland Resort, as we were hopeful for a May opening with the start of the 70th celebration. The 70th celebration is on May 16, 2025!
