Rise of the Resistance is undoubtedly one of the most popular Disney attractions offering an amazing immersive experience for Star Wars fans. Now this special effect finally returns to the delight of guests.
Technical Difficulties
It is not uncommon for an attraction to experience downtime throughout the course of the day. Sometimes it’s a technical issue that needs to be resolved or the weather is forcing rides to close.
Many of the newer attractions have so many moving parts that all lead to the overall experience of the attraction. When one of these parts malfunctions a backup plan is in place known as the “B Mode.”
We see this fairly often over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom aboard the Na’vi River Journey. The large Shaman animatronic at times is unoperational and a one-dimensional version is in place.
Special Effect Returns
Rise of the Resistance boasts high wait times primarily because of its popularity. Secondly, high wait times are due to the trackless ride system and many animatronics, this attraction often closes temporarily.
After guests exit the elevator, they enter into the gun room. The full size cannons are to fire at ships, but this special effect has been missing at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland shortly after the ride opened at both parks.
Today, Scott Gustin shares that the cannon special effect has finally returned to Disneyland. This is such a fun special effect that not many guests have experienced.
What about Walt Disney World?
This is great news for Disneyland guests, but as of today, January 31st, this special effect is still missing at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. Disney has not shared if this special effect will return at this park.
The firing canons finally return to Rise of the Resistance.
We hope that attention will be paid to this missing element at Walt Disney World as well. Guests wait so long or opt to pay for the Lightning Lane Single Pass just to enjoy this attraction. It would be great for all special effects to be operational to create the true immersive experience planned fro this attraction.
What do you think of this effect missing for so long? Do you think Disney should do more to keep attractions in better condition? Share your thoughts with us, and share this news with your Disney pals.
