Important Change for Disney’s Resort Refillable Mugs

If you love using refillable mugs for UNLIMITED drink refills when you visit the Walt Disney World Resort, you will want to check out this recent change.

Many Walt Disney World offers Guests enjoy purchasing the Disney Rapid Refillable Mug. Guests can then enjoy unlimited refills during their time on vacation (up to 14 days).

The refillable mug is currently priced at $22.99. These mugs work at all Walt Disney World Resorts and not simply the resort where it was originally purchased. It is important to note that unlimited refills are not available at the Walt Disney World Parks.

Important Change

Each mug is equipped with an RFID chip.  This “RapidFill” technology allows the mugs to be activated and used at any RapidFill station. You can typically find beverage islands or freestyle drink machines at the quick-serve dining locations and swimming pool areas at Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Many guests enjoy this unlimited refill option but complain that many resorts offer refills with limited hours. This can be frustrating for guests heading to the parks very early and/or returning to their resort late in the evening.

Previously, guests at Disney’s Coronado Springs had such a complaint about the refill station closing at 11:00 pm. Just this week, we noticed that the Cafe Rix refill station is now open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Is it worth the price?

The limited hours of operation at some resorts deterred many from purchasing these mugs. Many Disney Resorts already offer unlimited hours. We hope even more locations will continue to offer refills 24/7.

Coronado Springs Cafe Rix now offers Disney’s Refillable Mug refills 24/7.

Fountain soft drinks currently cost $4.79 at most quick-service locations. Bottled drinks can be even more costly than that. With the current price of $22.99, the refillable mug pays for itself after 4 uses.
