On one of our visits back in January, we noticed that the Manatee exhibit was curtained off and inaccessible to visitors. The upper viewing location was also roped off.

Manatees, Little Joe and Inigo, are no longer in their tank at SeaBase in EPCOT. They have moved to a new long-term home.

Cast Members have said Little Joe and Inigo have been relocated to new long-term homes at Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park and Mote Marine Laboratory. You can read more about that HERE.

It has been reported that new manatees have arrived at the SeaBase in EPCOT! With the manatees’ arrival, also comes the reopening of the viewing areas on both the first and second floors.

Four new manatees have arrived at EPCOT!

Four manatees are now calling EPCOT home, however, only two were out for viewing. Cider and Mino were the two that were most recently out in the manatee exhibit. It appears that Disney will become more of a rehab facility than a long-term home.

What Does This Mean for You?

With EPCOT’s manatee exhibit potentially moving to a more short-term rehabilitation option versus a long-term home, there will be more manatees moving through. Because of this, there is a higher chance of the manatee exhibit being closed.

We recommend being prepared for the potential of the manatee exhibit being closed at times due to manatees moving out of the exhibit once rehabilited and before the next manatees move in.
