Technical Difficulties Affect Disney World’s TRON Experience

Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland received a recharge of power and popularity when guests first entered the grid aboard TRON Lightcycles. Unfortunately, technical difficulties continue to affect guests in this popular area.

TRON is an incredibly popular attraction at Magic Kingdom that officially opened on April 4, 2023. When it first opened, a virtual queue was in use. In September 2024, Disney removed the virtual queue for this attraction.

Now, Guests can either wait in the traditional standby line or purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass for this attraction. The price for this varies depending on the date but typically costs between $20 and $22.

TRON is not available for Early Entry, but Tomorrowland is open during this time. The best tip for resort guests is to wait at the rope near the TRON entrance to be near the front before the Magic Kingdom and TRON officially opens for all guests.

The newly imagined Tomorrowland Launch Depot opened alongside TRON and offers many unique items to continue the immersive storytelling of the attraction. One such experience is the TRON Identity Program.

Guests create an action figure, or Program, that looks and sounds like you through facial scans and voice recordings. Although a bit pricey, at $89.99, this action figure will link to other TRON merchandise too!

Unfortunately, technical difficulties closed this experience for one day last month. Now, reservations are no longer available, and we are curious if this is due to past technical difficulties.

Reservations Unavailable

Guests hoping to make a reservation for the TRON Identity Program will find that no times are available from today through April 9, 2025.

Although reservations are unavailable, guests can walk up to join this experience (if the experience is operational). It appears that this may allow for downtime in case of technical difficulties. We are curious to see if and when reservations may return for this experience.
