Star Wars New Nighttime Show Announced

After a great teaser last week for Luke Skywalker appearing at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we have full details of a brand new nighttime show. Here are the details we currently know about this new show.

What is “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga”

Last week, Disney Parks got our attention when they teased a new character coming to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. From the tagline, “A Jedi…like his father before him,” and his side profile, Star Wars fans knew this was none other than Luke Skywalker.

Today, Disney shared that Luke Skywalker will appear in the new nightly projection show “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” This will debut on March 28, allowing guests to join in a galactic storytelling adventure.

Disney shares, “Stunning projection effects transform the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon evoking memories of some of the greatest moments in galactic history as an iconic musical score, comprised of familiar themes heard throughout the films of the Skywalker saga, draws the audience into the legendary story of the Skywalkers.”

Where to meet Luke Skywalker?

Luke Skywalker will be featured in “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga“, and it appears that for the first time, he will be greeting guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. We do not know where he will be located and if this will be a “roaming character.”

Both new entertainment offerings are part of Disneyland’s Season of the Force for 2025. This Star Wars event, offered at Disneyland, begins March 28 and runs through May 11, 2025. Although “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” will continue even after May 11th.

Along with this new show, guests can also enjoy the “Fire of the Rising Moons” nighttime show, featuring music from the legendary composer John Williams. This will only be available on select nights. My son and I (Donna) experienced this last year, and it was absolutely stunning. Please take time to enjoy this show if it is available when you visit.

What is the Season of the Force?

Along with great nighttime entertainment and a new meet and greet, Seasons of the Force offers a great attraction overlay with Hyperspace Mountain. There will be great food and snack options for this season for adventurous travelers.

“Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” will debut on March 28, 2025.

Guests can also enjoy special merchandise and souvenirs such as the Star Wars plush for Create Your Own Headbands (as featured above), including Yoda, R2-D2, an Ewok, Darth Vader, and a stormtrooper. Available at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, World of Disney, The Mad Hatter, and The Star Trader. We hope these may eventually make their way to Walt Disney World.
