Are Disney High Prices Driven by Park Guests

Hear us out; many of our readers feel as though a Disney Park vacation is too expensive, and many are leary to book another Disney vacation. However, a growing trend makes it appear that Park guest behavior seem to be driving up the high Disney Park prices.

Many loyal Disney fans wonder when Disney price increases and high-priced add-ons will end. Along with the higher prices, we shared the many perks that are still missing at Disney Parks. Read more about this HERE.

Disney responded in an unusual way by listing their current “deals” with the greatest discounts offered to local guests. Along with this, the price for select Disney Vacation Club Resorts just increased yesterday.

You, our readers, read this and responded a resounding “YES” that the price hikes at the Disney Parks are too much for the average family. Many of you responded that as loyal Disney fans for decades, for the first time, you are looking elsewhere beyond Disney Parks.

Is Premier Pass Worth the Price

Disney debuted a new add-on service called Lightning Lane Premier Pass (Premier Pass or LLPP for short), which allows Guests to enter the Lightning Lane entrance without booking an arrival window.

Guests purchase LLPP in the app, select the attraction they wish to redeem, and tap the entry point at the Lightning Lane entrance. When first introduced, this was reserved for Guests staying at Deluxe Resorts. Later, this expanded to guests at any Walt Disney World Resort, which later allowed access to all guests.

Pricing is dynamic for the Premier Pass with Disney’s Animal Kingdom (the lowest-priced park) ranging from $129-$199 and Magic Kingdom (the highest-priced park) ranging from $329-$449. This pricing shocked many Disney guests, but it seems that some guests are actually encouraging Disney to increase prices.

When Disney first announced the Premier Pass, many guests shared that they would never pay the high price for this one-day service. However, the growing trend has us worried. For the first time, Premier Pass is now sold out for 9 days straight at the Magic Kingdom.

These sold-out dates include yesterday, February 11th, through February 19th. Guests pay between $329 and $399 for the Premier Pass on these dates. Along with this, Disney’s Hollywood Studios sold out of all Premier Passes for both February 15th and 16th.

This is a big paradox for many. On one side Disney guests state the Parks are too expensive; while other guests purchase the high dollar Premier Pass to help make a magical vacation.
