Disney’s Hollywood Studios Most Popular Attractions Fail to Open

Guests are left disappointed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as two attractions have still failed to open today. With fewer attractions than most other parks, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is greatly affected, and guests are understandably upset.

Ride Closures

You have the best touring plans in place, and you are at the park for a rope drop only to discover that your top attractions are closed. Disney World rides close all the time. Severe weather, mechanical or technical malfunctions, and Guests doing the wrong thing can all shut an attraction down.

Oftentimes, the ride reopens when the weather passes or the issue gets fixed. However, sometimes, it can also lead to a multi-day closure. Ride closures not only affect that attraction but create a ripple effect as well.

Higher wait times can be seen at other park attractions as guests scramble to revamp their touring plans. This happened earlier this week at Magic Kingdom when almost 20 attractions went down at the same time.

Disney Attractions Fail to Open

As guests entered Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning, they may have rushed to the biggest attractions. The new Lightning Lane Multi-Pass lists the following as Top Tier attractions: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Slinky Dog Dash.

With the popularity of Rise of the Resistance, this attraction remains in the elite Lightning Lane Single Pass tier. To enjoy these more popular attractions, many guests either pay for Lightning Lane or arrive early for rope drop to be among the first in line.

Today, both Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway have not opened yet at 2:30 pm (ET). There is no word from Cast Members if these attractions will open today.

High Wait Times

This creates higher wait times for other popular attractions, with Slinky Dog Dash at 115 minutes and an 85-minute wait for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania.

Both Mickey & Minnie’s Ruanway Railway and Rise of the Resistance failed to open by 2:30 pm (ET) on Valentine’s Day.

Both Mickey & Minnie’s Ruanway Railway and Rise of the Resistance use the trackless ride system that often causes temporary closures. We hope these technical difficulties will be resolved soon.
