Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be running short on attractions for the foreseeable future. After all, an entire land is undergoing demolition as Dinoland U.S.A. transforms into a land themed to the Central Americas including attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones.

It’s Tough to Be a Bug at the Tree of Life is also permanently closing in March. You can read about it HERE.

And, Kali River Rapids is also temporarily closed for refurbishment. And now another closure is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Now, Disney has noted that part of Maharajah Jungle Trek will be closed. Guests visiting the park can usually stop by the Bats exhibit.

Many people don’t even realize that you can find one of the world’s largest bat species at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Large flying foxes, also known as Malayan flying foxes, are bats with wingspans up to 6 feet in length! They are native to Asia, but you can see them hanging out in Disney!

However, the bats will be temporarily unavailable as that part of the attraction is closing for refurbishment. Disney’s website states: Starting February 17, 2025, the bats exhibit at Maharajah Jungle Trek will be closed for refurbishment. The area is expected to reopen in early March 2025.

This closure only affects the Bat exhibit. Guests can still visit the rest of the Maharajah Jungle Trek. This includes Disney World’s tiger exhibit, featuring baby Bakso, the rare Sumatran Tiger Cub. It also includes the amazing aviary, where you might just see some more babies!

Of course, with so many closures, waits around the rest of the park might be elevated, so be sure to pack your patience when you go to enjoy the animals! And don’t forget to check out all of Animal Kingdom’s great shows during your visit.
