Of all Disney’s character meals, perhaps the most elevated is the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures. This is a special, sumptuous three-course breakfast, where the attendees can meet and interact with lots of Disney princesses throughout the meal.

The Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures meal takes place exclusively at Napa Rose, a high-end restaurant in Disneyland. The meal comes with a high price tag starting at $142 per person (adults and children alike).

Is this experience worth it? Certainly, it can be under the right circumstances. Hopefully, this review will help you see whether it is right for you and your travel party.

Getting to Napa Rose

It is important to remember that the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures experience happens outside of the theme parks. Napa Rose is nestled cozily in The Grand Californian Hotel.

However, it is easy to travel to and from Napa Rose from either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, the other resort hotels, and Downtown Disney. You can take a bus, use ride-share, or simply walk to Napa Rose if you wish.

Guests with reservations can also drive a car to the Grand California and park for 5 hours. However, there will be parking fees after that.

Be aware that getting a reservation can be tricky. This is a very popular meal, and reservations go quickly.

We recommend booking online as soon as the 60-day window opens. However, the restaurant will be renovated from March through the summer of 2025, so you may not be able to book then.

You should also know that the cancellation policy for Napa Rose is different from that for other Disneyland restaurants. To avoid a fee, you must cancel 24 hours in advance.

Timing

Aurora

Reservation times for the meal run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. If you book an 11:00 time, you can enjoy the restaurant until you finish dining and meeting princesses.

The experience can take a long time, so prepare for a leisurely meal. You will also need to factor in your travel time. It is advisable to carve out at least 3 hours to get there, dine, and get where you are going afterward.

What to Wear

Napa Rose does have a dress code. It is an elegant yet laid-back dining experience. Guests are requested to dress in a manner consistent with the restaurant’s ambiance.

However, when it came to children, on the day of our visit, almost every little girl visiting the restaurant had on a Disney Princess dress. While children are not required to wear a princess dress, they may feel left out if they don’t.

I booked my child an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disneyland Park at 8:30 that morning to make the day extra special. This worked out perfectly.

We finished her BBB photoshoot just before 10:00 with plenty of time to make our way to the restaurant by 10:50. However, be very careful about timing as the boutique can get backed up.

Arrival

The breakfast is special from the moment of your arrival. My daughter and I were greeted warmly at check-in for our princess adventure.

A hostess was designated to help guests meet the princesses. She led us to a table in a grand room with a fireplace. There, we could play a game or two of Princess Tic-Tac-Toe while we waited for our table.

The hostess also mentioned she would take us to meet a princess while we waited. And, soon, she fetched us to meet and visit with our first princess, Mulan!

I was immediately struck by how intentional Mulan was in spending time with my daughter and personalizing their conversation. She also posed for photos and signed autographs. And, she was just the start!

Next, we were whisked to our table. It was set beautifully with nice dishes, tea cups, and a rose in a vase.

My daughter was delighted to find a place card with our name on it. She thought it was all very fancy.

The Princesses

We met a total of eight princesses! In addition to Mulan, we visited with Raya, Jasmine, Aurora, Ariel, Tiana, Belle, and Rapunzel!

It is important to know that the princess line-up changes depending on the day. And, the princesses rotate throughout the day as well.

It is also important to know that the princesses do not generally visit your table. You go to them on the porch or near the fireplaces. If you are used to characters coming to you, you might find this process a little tricky to navigate.

The princesses took their time with each child, signing books, taking photos, and engaging in personalized conversations. Comfortable chairs lined the porch for children and their parents to sit and await their turns, as sometimes a wait formed.

True to her word, the hostess offered everyone a chance to meet every princess. If a princess announced her departure for the day, the hostess alerted guests so they could have one last visit if they wished.

A Special Story

During one rotation, Rapunzel came to the porch with a storybook. She sat and all the little princesses on the porch quickly gathered around her to listen to her story. It was one of the most adorable things I have ever seen at a Disney park.

After the story, she led all the little princesses in a “Best Day EVER” cheer. Then, she gathered them all for a sweet group photo.

Rapunzel is not the only princess who does story time. Belle or one of the other princesses might lead story time as well.

The Food Service

Our server was an absolute delight. He knew so much about Disneyland and gave us some great tips for enjoying our day.

He offered beverages: juices, coffee, tea, etc. These were included with the meal. There were also alcoholic beverages, including a nice wine list, and specialty beverages for an upcharge.

He did a good job of coordinating the meal with our princess visits. Even so, I still found the timing a little tricky at first. I wish I had allowed myself to be more reliant on the hostess instead of putting mental energy into getting it all done.

Bread Service

Our bread course included a blueberry scone, a muffin, and a chocolate twist of some sort. These were served with butter.

My daughter loved the muffin. And, I thought the scone was very good. Neither of us cared for the twist, which was dryer, harder, and crummier than we liked.

At some point, to our delight, we also received a basket of fried potatoes. It came along with special kinds of ketchup.

The First Course

Our first course was served on a beautiful 3-tier tower. Five appetizers awaited us.

We had coconut cookies & cream chia parfait, Chef Louie’s Mini Lobster Roll, Tiana’s Famous Beignets, Princess Jasmine’s Banana Wrap, and Pocahontas Ah-maize-ing Cornbread.

My daughter and I agreed our favorite was the Beignet. The parfait was another favorite.

The Main Course

The main course was a beautiful buffet. This is not a typical bustling character buffet. The options were more elevated and beautifully displayed.

There were kid-friendly options like chicken and Mickey waffles, house-made mac & cheese, and bacon. There were also fruit skewers with star-shaped cuts of melon on them. And then, there were plenty of other fresh fruits such as strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries as well.

We found fun rainbow sprinkle Mickey waffles. There were also powdered sugar Mickey Waffles that tasted like no others I have ever had!

They were absolutely delightful. The closest thing I can compare them to is the sour cream waffles at Topolino’s Terrace in Walt Disney World.

Other options are more adult-oriented. These included “perfect” scrambled eggs, maple turkey sausage with caramelized pears and figs, breakfast deviled eggs, prime rib with summer corn succotash, asparagus, truffle mac & cheese, and roasted rainbow carrots in a parsnip and celery root puree.

The restaurant described the eggs as “perfect” scrambled eggs. They were indeed perfect. I have never had better eggs on a breakfast buffet.

For that matter, I have never had a better breakfast buffet in a theme park. This was in a league of its own.

Dessert

There was still one last course to come! The dessert course offered delights such as Ariel’s Dingle Hopper Vanilla Cake Pops, Pocahontas Colors of the Wind Sorbet, Princess Aurora Chocolate Cream Puffs, and Tiana’s Pistachio Macarons.

We both ate our sorbet before it could melt. It was delightful, fruity, and topped with a chocolate feather.

My daughter especially loved the cake pop. It was her favorite dessert of the trip.

We were sad that we couldn’t finish it all! Fortunately, our server turned up with a to-go box so we continued to enjoy the desserts later.

Other Trinkets

We also left with two keepsakes. First, there was a Napa Rose Princess Breakfast Adventures button for my daughter. There was also an autograph card printed with the signatures of each of the Napa Rose princesses, even those who were not there on that particular day.

Lastly, we received our handful of photo downloads from the experience. They showed up in our app.

Is it Worth It?

Is it worth it? This is truly a hard question that will depend on your travel party.

For me, the princess experience and the delicious food made this breakfast well worth it. It was especially worth it because my daughter had a fantastic time. We had a core memory day.

We also maximized the value with a late reservation, which made the meal work as both breakfast and lunch. Lastly, only my daughter and I attended the breakfast. My husband and son were infinitely happier doing their own thing. And, I was happy to save the $300+ that would have gone toward their meals.

After all, $142 per person and the loss of nearly 3 hours of potential park time can add up. If you have only a short trip, it may not be worth the time, especially because there are princesses to be found in the theme parks.

You can also assess the value by considering whether everyone in your travel party will enjoy the experience. For example, if you are traveling with party members who do not like heavy meals in the morning, this experience will not be worth it for them.

Credit: Kate

Moreover, if you have travelers in your party who have no interest in meeting princesses, this is not going to be much of an experience for them. The princesses are the main attraction. If this is the case, you could split up and go separate ways for the duration of the meal.

Verdict: If you and your little princess or anyone else in your party love really good breakfast food, great service, and Disney princesses, this is the experience for you. The Napa Rose Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures makes a great choice for a special occasion or a once-in-a-lifetime treat.
