Disney may be known for castles and princesses, but they are also known for technical glitches. Technology is great when it’s working and a pain when it’s not. And, with a company as big as Disney problems are bound to pop up often.

The problem arises with the My Disney Experience app. This is your travel tool to find wait times, place mobile food orders, check in your resort room, and even purchase and book your Lightning Lane selections.

During the summer of 2024, Disney changed the former Genie+ to Lightning Lane to skip the line for a fee. This is available for both Multi Pass based on tiers for each park and Single Pass for select attractions. Be sure to check out our honest review of this HERE.

Walt Disney World is always busy, but there are times when it is even busier such as this weekend. This is the last weekend of Festival of Arts and the runDisney Princess Half Marathon weekend. Many guests may have purchased Lightning Lane to help navigate the heavier crowds.

Unfortunately, guests at Walt Disney World are experiencing a technical error when trying to book a new Lightning Lane or modify an existing Lightning Lane selection. We first noticed this error at 7:00 pm (ET).

Guests continue to see the above picture stating that “Something went wrong” with a prompt to reload. This is a huge disadvantage for guests at the parks. The Lightning Lane is an additional cost and this glitch greatly limits guests in the busy parks.

Guests affected by this technical glitch can make their way to the blue Guest Experiences umbrellas in the parks to see if they may be able to help.

We are hopeful that this glitch will be corrected soon and will not affect guests visiting the parks tomorrow.
