Unexpected Change at Cosmic Rewind

Cosmic Rewind Popularity

One of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Disney often uses a virtual queue when attractions first open to help manage guests.

Cosmic Rewind offered a virtual queue longer than any other attraction at Walt Disney World. Since opening in 2022, Cosmic Rewind offered a virtual queue for 1,005 days. This speaks to its high popularity among guests.

The second runner-up is Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This attraction offered a virtual queue for 658 days. All other attractions shifted from a virtual queue to a standby queue in less time.

Changes at Cosmic Rewind

This past week, Disney announced that starting Tuesday, February 25, 2025, a virtual queue will no longer be needed for Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Guests have two options to enjoy Cosmic Rewind: purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass to skip the line for a fee or wait in the standby queue.

Today at EPCOT, a new standby queue is constructed to the left of the attraction. This twisting queue with umbrella shade was also used when the attraction offered previews back in 2022 (as pictured above).

As many guests enjoying this attraction may know, there is still a lengthy queue inside the attraction. Disney appears to be prepared for big crowds when a standby queue is offered on February 25th.
