TapuTapu has Vanished from Volcano Bay in Universal

One of the best features at Universal’s Volcano Bay is missing! Here are all the details.

If you are unfamiliar with Universal’s Volcano Bay water park, then you may not have heard of TapuTapu. However, anyone who has visited Volcano Bay can tell you this little device is part of what makes the experience at Volcano Bay so amazing.

TapuTapu is a watch-like armband that you strap onto your wrist and wear during your visit to Volcano Bay. TapuTapu serves several purposes. Most importantly, you will use it to scan at attractions to reserve a return time so that you don’t have to wait in long physical lines.

You can enjoy other areas of the park and attractions with lower or no wait times while your TapuTapu counts down the moments until you can return to an attraction. Best of all, it is (usually) FREE for guests at Volcano Bay. Can you believe there is a park that still offers a skip-the-line service for free?

TapuTapu is Missing

Sadly, it appears as if TapuTapu is not available for guests to use right now. It is simply nowhere to be found around Volcano Bay.

There is no official word on exactly why this amazing benefit has been removed. Now the only options for experiencing the slides are to wait in standby lines or to buy Universal Express for Volcano Bay.

The most important question is this. Will TapuTapu be back? The answer, thankfully, is YES.

When Will TapuTapu be Back

Today Universal confirmed that the plan is not to remove TapuTapu forever. In fact, the goal is for TapuTapu to be back in time for spring 2025! Hopefully, it will return before crowd levels become extreme.

TapuTapu will be back in the spring.

It appears that this is just temporary. Soon everyone will be able to secure wait time once more and make the day even more enjoyable for visitors. TapuTapu adds an extra level of carefree fun to the day.
