One of the best perks of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is Early Theme Park Hours. All guests utilizing this benefit can take advantage of entering the parks 30 minutes before the parks officially open.

For 2025, Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can enjoy admission to one of the water parks on check-in day! This is included with your stay.

This perk is gaining popularity with guests. Many guests attempting to park at Blizzard Beach have been redirected to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort due to the parking lot being full. Guests then take a bus to Blizzard Beach from this resort.

Previously, both water parks were open simultaneously, but since 2020, there has been no overlap in having both water parks open to guests. Typically, Typhoon Lagoon closes in mid-November while Blizzard Beach reopens.

Disney just announced a reopening date for Typhoon Lagoon of May 1st. Typically, this news comes with a closing date for Blizzard Beach.

Interestingly, Disney has not announced a closing date for Blizzard Beach. Many have wondered if both water parks may open simultaneously in 2025 because of the newest resort perk for free water park admission.

Blizzard Beach 30th Anniversary

One reason for the extended opening of Disney’s Blizzard Beach may be for the 30th Anniversary celebration. Blizzard Beach first opened on April 1, 1995. On April 1st, guests can enjoy a DJ dance party near the Polar Pub, meet Mickey & Minnie in their winter gear, enjoy snowman bowling, and character themed tubes.

Typhoon Lagoon reopens on May 1, 2025.

The party will continue throughout April with dance parties, special anniversary food & beverage items, and more frosted fun than ever. There will also be some family-friendly games with cool prizes, such as snowflake tattoos, wintery-themed rubber ducks, and snowy bubbles.
