Disney Quietly Removes this Character Resort Perk Indefinitely

We were pretty shocked when we discovered that Disney quietly removed this magical perk without warning. Guests choose Disney Resorts to be surrounded by the magic of Disney, but it seems that more and more of these magical perks are missing

Part of what makes a Disney vacation so magical is interacting with your favorite characters. Princesses, The Fab 5, Pixar characters, and more come to life in theme parks and resorts.

In honor of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, Disney Characters began appearing at select Walt Disney World Resorts. Thankfully, these fun character interactions continued even past the anniversary festivities. See the new change Disney made for this perk HERE.

Often, these fun characters did not make their way to the All-Star value resorts. In July 2023, Disney announced that “Disney Character Clicks” would be available at All-Star Sports and All-Star Movies.

Disney Character Clicks Removed

On a recent visit to All Star Sports, we noticed that the above featured “Disney Character Clicks” booth was removed. When in place, guests simply scanned their MagicBand, Key to the World card, park ticket, or Disney Magic Mobile.

Next, choose which of the Fab 5 characters you would like in your shot. Stand on the star and have 3 magical photos taken.

This was a fun perk that was exclusive to these value resorts. These resorts offer great pricing to allow guests with different budgets to enjoy the magic of staying on property. With an exclusive perk, guests of all budgets felt valued.

Why was it removed?

When Disney first announced this fun perk, it was to be for a limited time. It did seem odd that Disney did not announce an end date for this offering.

Disney Character Clicks is now removed from All Star Sports.

A Cast Member shared that these were removed a few weeks ago and are not expected to return. He did share that characters may occasionally visit, but these will be rare. In its place is additional lobby seating, as pictured above.
