The most “Magical Place on Earth” looks like a construction zone right now. Take a look at all of the current work taking place.
Unexpected Railroad Refurbishment
Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. These take place for various reasons. Many times, Disney announces this refurbishment. However, without any advanced warning, work has begun on the Walt Disney World Railroad train station.
The train is still working without any complications. However, scrim and construction walls now surround the train station entrance facing Main Street.
At this time, we do not know how long construction will be underway at the Walt Disney World Railroad train station, nor do we know if this refurbishment will continue to the front entrance of the park.
Astro Orbiter Refurbishment
Earlier, we shared that the Astro Orbiter would close on January 13, 2025. The landscape of Tomorrowland now looks quite different.
The large spire that once held the colorful planets is now missing from this structure. Tomorrowland appears pretty dull without those beautiful colored planets.
Astro Orbiter is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2025. We can’t wait for those beautiful pops of planetary color to finally return to Tomorrowland
Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge
Pirates of the Caribbean is open and welcoming guests aboard. However, in line for the subtraction guess will hear much construction taking place on the new Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge.
With an expected opening in 2025, this new lounge will be located near the queue for this attraction. Construction noise could be heard all of the way through the inside queue for this attraction.

Big Thunder Mountain Refurbishment
A year-long refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad began on January 6, 2025. Work will include moving the tower and replacing some or all of the tracks. The final scene may also be upgraded.
Four big construction projects are taking place throughout Magic Kingdom.
Much work can be seen and heard from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. There is also a large crane for this construction that can be seen on the horizon all around most of the Magic Kingdom.
