We follow along with Walt Disney World park hours on a regular basis. Most of the time, they stay pretty standard, with a few exceptions based on higher crowd levels.

On some occasions, the parks may close earlier than normal to allow for special events. We saw this at Disney’s Hollywood Studios back in June 2024 when entire park was rented out for a private event.

There are also times throughout the year that Magic Kingdom may close early for a Cast Member Service Celebration.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom typically closes early to allow time to care for the animals. It’s hard to see Animal Kingdom lit up at night because it closes so early. That is a real shame because the park is so beautiful at night! Pandora, in particular, is lit up with bioluminescent flora and other effects.

On Sunday, March 9, 2025, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open for late magic hours from 8 PM until 12 AM. This is a special ticketed event for those who are part of the Universal Cheerleading Association National High School Championship event.

If you were anything like us, you might be wanting to dust off your pom-poms and join the fun. It is pretty unheard of to hear of Disney’s Animal Kingdom staying open quite so late. This will be an amazing evening for all that can attend.

Thankfully, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will not close early for this event. The park is set to close at 7 PM for day guests, while the special ticketed event begins at 8 PM.

On Sunday, March 9, 2025, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open for late magic hours from 8 PM until 12 AM.
