Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replaced Splash Mountain and has experienced similar technical issues that plagued the former attraction. This recent malfunction took this joyful celebration and turned it into a scare zone for guests.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Walt Disney World on June 28, 2024, and at Disneyland on November 15, 2024. As with many of Disney’s newer attractions, a virtual queue was in place when the attraction first opened at each park.
In December 2024, Disneyland offered a standby queue for this attraction. Recently, Walt Disney World also dropped the virtual queue. Now, guests can join the standby line or purchase the Lightning Lane Multipass.
Long wait times show that this attraction is quite popular at both Disneyland and Disney World.
Tiana’s Scary Malfunction

One thing that has remained from the former Splash Mountain attraction to the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is technical difficulties. For example, the former Splash Mountain attraction was not included in the Extended Evening Hours due to needed maintenance.
There have even been times when Tianas Bayou Adventure was set to close earlier than the park closing. Recently, scariestplaceonearth shared a video of a frightening animatronic malfunction.
In the video (posted below) the voices of both Louis and Tiana take on an eerie sound as they announce, “We’re just getting started.” Watch the full video:
Disney Animatronic Fails

It is not completely uncommon for attractions to experience malfunctions, breakdowns, or evacuations at Disney World. Technology is a wonderful thing when it’s working and a giant pain when it’s not.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closes often for technical difficulties with both the ride mechanics and the animatronics.
The Disney Parks utilize cutting-edge technology. At its best, guests are left mesmerized and feel immersed in their favorite stories. At its worst, rides temporarily close, and sometimes, guests can see the malfunctions in person. This is definitely an example of an animatronic fail.
