A Review of the New Butterbeer HERSHEY’s Kisses

We tried the new Butterbeer HERSHEY’s Kisses, and here are our honest thoughts. Are these worth rushing to the store for?

You don’t have to be a Harry Potter fan to enjoy the delicious taste of Butterbeer (although it doesn’t hurt). We are so excited that Butterbeer season is in FULL swing at Universal Orlando Resort for all of its Guests!

Right now, through May 31, 2025, visitors will enjoy limited-time additions to the Butterbeer line-up. Butterbeer Cream Puff, Butterbeer Candy Bar Butterbeer Ice Lolly, and Butterbeer Gummies with Souvenir Butterbeer Cart are available for purchase! And, visitors can also pick up a special gold souvenir stein!

Can’t make it to the parks for Butterbeer season? That’s okay! You can enjoy Butterbeer fun at home, too. Head to your local grocery store!

HERSHEY’S Butterbeer Kisses

Right now there are quite a few fun Butterbeer-flavored foods popping up in grocery stores and big box stores! We have seen them in Target, Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS Pharmacy just to name a few!

The available offerings include Butterbeer flavored HERSHEY’s Kisses, Goldfish Crackers, and Keebler Fudge Stripes Harry Potter Butterbeer Limited Edition Cookies! See what you can spot in your local shops.

We tried the HERSHEY’S Butterbeer Kisses so that you know whether it is worth investing time into finding some for yourself! Here is a review!

I (Kate) got my family in on the action to get a range of opinions for you, dear readers. First of all, you should know a few important things before you eat them.

One is allergen information. According to the packaging, these Butterbeer kisses contain both soy and milk.

And, if you are avoiding food dye, this isn’t for you. Sadly, they contain Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Blue 2 Lake.

We did think the kisses were cute. But, we also think the colors of the wrappers could have been even more creatively used to represent all 4 Hogwarts Houses!

We sliced one in half so you can see a cross-section. The outside is a Butterbeer-flavored layer, and the inside is a cream-colored layer. It should be noted that the middle is not actually creamy in texture.

When it comes to flavor, we are a house divided. Some of us liked them, and some of us did not.

I will preface this by saying I love sweets, and I like sugary things. I adore Butterbeer and don’t find it too sweet in its liquid form or its ice cream form.

For me, these kisses are too sweet! One of my children and I agreed that they are too sugar-forward and would be improved with a little sea salt! In fact, these actually made us miss the real thing even more.

The Butterbeer kisses are extreemly sweet.

However, my other 2 family members enjoyed them and didn’t mind the sweetness as much. They thought they made for a fun little bite. That said, they did not love them enough to choose them over their favorite desserts.

Overall, if you are craving extreme sweetness with a hint of butterscotch, you will like these. They are certainly a cute little treat. It might soothe your cravings for Butterbeer. Then again, it might also make you miss the real thing even more!
