The landscape of Disney’s Animal Kingdom changed drastically overnight. With this big change, Disney now gives us a closing timeline for DinoLand. Find out the last days that you can visit before DinoLand goes extinct.
DinoLand Destruction

Disney announced that big changes would be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama location permanently closed on January 12, 2025.
This included TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun and Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. Construction walls are now in place, and TriceraTop Spin is now dismantled.
Due to the construction of walls, a few DinoLand characters have changed their meeting locations. Disney even surprised guests with a new entertainment offering for DinoLand.
Cementosaurus Removed

Last night, a big change occurred to the landscape of DinoLand USA. The large green dinosaur near Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama location has now been removed.
This large dinosaur, affectionately known as Cementosaurus, served as a great photo op for guests. Now, with this removed, DinoLand looks much different.
With this big change, Disney now shares an update for the closing of DinoLand.
Closing of DinoLand

Disney confirms that 2025 is your last year to visit DinoLand before it goes extinct. A new timeline has confirmed that DINOSAUR will close in 2026. Both Restaurantsaurus and Dino Bites will remain open in 2025.

The Boneyard will remain open through 2025 for all of the young archaeologists. Construction on the new land is currently ongoing, and Tropical Americas will open in 2027.
Disney shares, “Tropical Americas — better known as Pueblo Esperanza — will be a new 11-acre lush and sprawling area. Just like Harambe, this land will feel lived in, with a long, rich history. Not only will the land include a hacienda — which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World Resort — but also two signature attractions for Indiana Jones and Encanto.”
