Orlando International Airport, also known as MCO, is a busy airport. It is also a popular choice for those visiting Central Florida, which is where many of our favorite theme parks are located.

MCO is consistently listed in the top 10 busiest airports in the United States due to the number of travelers visiting Central Florida. At over 11,000 acres it is also one of the largest airports as well.

FAA Halts Flights at Orlando Airport

Tonight, the FAA has issued a ground stop for several Florida Airports, including Orlando International Airport. Other airports include Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach.

The FAA has issued a ground stop for Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach airports due to “space launch debris” from SpaceX’s Starship.

The ground stop was issued due to “space launch debris” from SpaceX’s Starship. At the time of this writing, this ground stop is in place until 8 PM ET.

Unfortunately, if you are planning to travel out of one of these impacted airports tonight, your flight might be delayed. Orlando International Airport encourages travelers to check directly with your airline for updates.
