Orlando International Airport (MCO for short) is a busy airport. Many people traveling to or from Disney World use this airport as it is only about a half hour away.

Last year, Spring Break numbers were increased due to Easter falling during the same time. Because of this, Orlando Airport officials expect to see a slight decrease this year in expected Spring Break travelers.

Spring Break officially runs from February 22nd until April 6th, which is 44 days. Did you know that during last year’s Spring Break travel period, Orlando Airport had its busiest day ever?

Orlando International has offered some advice for travelers going through its airport during this busy time. They recommend the 3-2-1 timeline.

The 3-2-1 timeline is as follows: be at the ticket counter at least 3 hours before your departure time. Be sure to head to security 2 hours before your departure time, and be at your gate 1 hour before your departure time.

Also, be sure to check directly with your airlines for any updates such as delays or cancellations. Yesterday, a ground stop was issued for a surprising reason.

More helpful tips are to have TSA precheck or MCO Reserve to help you speed through the TSA security checkpoint. Airport officials also recommend packing the most important thing during this busy time…patience.
