Orlando International Airport, also known as MCO, is a busy airport. It is also a popular choice for those visiting Central Florida, which is where many of our favorite theme parks are located.
MCO is consistently listed in the top 10 busiest airports in the United States due to the number of travelers visiting Central Florida. At over 11,000 acres it is also one of the largest airports as well.
Spring Break has arrived, which means heavy crowds at Orlando International Airport. Orlando Airport has warned travelers ahead of this busy season so travelers can be best prepared.

Travelers at the Orlando International Airport may have been prepared for long waits, but they were not prepared for a ground stop to be issued. At first, the airport issued a ground stop until 5:30 PM due to heavy thunderstorms.
Severe weather is anticipated which could bring damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes. Since that announcement, the airport announced a ground delay for departures, estimating around 91 minutes.
It is unclear how long this ground Delay may be in effect, but some airport officials mentioned this could be effective until midnight tonight.
