Walt Disney first envisioned Disneyland as a place where parents and children could enjoy attractions in a magical land together. Over the years, this vision has somewhat faded, now, with news of a Disney adult-only lounge, we are left wondering what Walt Disney would think of this.
New Lounges

Over the years, Disney has seen much success with introducing lounges that are fun for the entire family. We see this at Space 220 at Epcot and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Oga’s Cantina. When Disney first announced that two more lounges would come to Walt Disney World we assumed that these would be available for the entire family as well.
Disney delighted pirates of all ages when they first announced that a Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern would be coming to Adventureland at Magic Kingdom.
Epcot will gain another lounge, this time inside Spaceship Earth. This one had us very intrigued with its sleek look, and we couldn’t wait to hear more about it, that is until today.
GEO-82 Lounge

Disney has just announced new details for the lounge featured in Spaceship Earth and its new name, Geo–82 Lounge. Guests here can spend an elegant time indulging in modern cocktails, taking in views of sprawling World Celebration gardens and World Showcase Lagoon from inside a world-famous icon.
The surprise came to many of us that when the GEO–82 Lounge opens later this year it will only be available to guests 21 years and older.
Disney promises that this space will allow guests to enjoy an all-new part of Spaceship Earth. Guests can enjoy innovative cocktails along with global-influence small plates.
Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern

This news had many of us pirates a little nervous that the new Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern would also be available for adults only. Thankfully, it appears that this lounge will be available for the entire family.
The new Spaceship Earth Lounge, GEO-82 will be available for guests 21 years only.
Disney shares, “For those interested in discovering fun beverages for the whole family, keep an eye (and perhaps a telescope!) out for more news about the Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern coming to Magic Kingdom Park later this year.“
What do you think of this adult-only lounge? Do you think that it should be more family-friendly? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
