Test Track is receiving a massive update, which also means a long closure for EPCOT guests. Originally planned for July 2024, Test Track closed earlier than expected in June 2024.

Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to embark on this re-imagining. The redesign celebrates today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future. It includes both the queue and the ride itself.

According to Disney, the queue will feature six distinct exhibits. The ride itself will have brand-new show scenes. These include scenes focused on onboard technology, customization, and personalization. Then, passengers will take an outdoor joyride as we have come to love about this attraction.

If you have been to EPCOT lately, you know that construction is still well underway. The new exterior is a throwback to the original pavilion design.

After rumors that testing had begun at Test Track after park hours, today, EPCOT guests heard the racing sounds of testing at Test Track during regular park hours.

This is a great sign of progress for the reopening of this attraction. However, work still continues at the attraction’s entrance. Check out the testing shared on the social media platform X:

New: Test Track Closing Date and Concept Art Announced

In December 2024, Disney shared that Test Track is now set to reopen in late summer 2025. Last summer, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reopened after being re-imagined from the previous Splash Mountain.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure began testing with empty vehicles on February 13th, in early March, water dummy testing began, and then later, in March 2024, Imagineers were among the first to start attraction testing.

Multiple previews were offered before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened on June 28 at Walt Disney World. If we follow along with this testing timeline, perhaps Test Track may open around July 2025. Disney has not offered an actual reopening date. This is simply our hope based on previous attraction testing.
