The most important part of a great day at Animal Kingdom with no waits is to arrive at least 45 minutes before park opening. If you arrive a little later and see the turnstiles already full, you might want to use the Rainforest Cafe entrance.
This plan was designed to be able to see all the major shows, ride only the rides that a small child would enjoy and meet every character in one day from 9:00 to 5:00 PM without much backtracking or rushing around.
Why did I place Kali River Rapids so late into the day? Because I don’t like to walk around the park wet all day. It causes chaffing and irritation. If you choose to ride earlier, you might want to consider bringing a change of clothing along. Ponchos don’t help very much on this ride!
Why is Kilimanjaro Safaris first on the list? Because the animals are moving about and eating early in the day and you’ll get to save your Fastpass for another attraction. The worst time to ride the Safaris truck is mid-day because it’s hot and the animals are sedentary and hidden in the shade.
If you aren’t using FP+ for Finding Nemo the Musical, you should plan to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early.

Going Sunday Sept 6th with 2 families kids ages 2-4yrs old and one teen. Doing EMH and hopping out by goal of 1230pm. Safari, Pang Trails (kids)/Exp Ever (teen+1 adult), Daisy Duck (new location), Lion King 10am show (in line by 930ish), Baloo/King Louie, Dinoland/Boneyard (with Goofy, Pluto, and Donald meets if kids want/ Exp Ever or Kali for teen+1 adult), 12p Nemo, hop out for midday break. 1. Does this seem like a reasonable plan? 2. If kids want to meet Jiminy Cricket, where would you alter plan? 3. Would you go straight from 10am Lion King to 11am Nemo instead?

Not likely to meet Daisy before FOTLK show. Goofy/Pluto wait will likely be 30 minutes. Jiminy leaves after Saturday.

Your plans look great! I was comparing some of the times listed on your Character Locator to the Animal Kingdom (with Little Children) plan and notice some of the character times are different. I'm guessing it has to do with Disney switching the times around way to often to update your plan regularly. What would you advise? I love the idea of having a plan ahead of time so we can get the most out of our visit without making my head spin in the planning stage. We leave this weekend (our first trip).

Yes, go by the current schedules for characters. They change things up pretty often, still pretty good guide to go by. We're working on a tool that will make it easier for me to update the details of the plan based on that week's character schedule. With that said, I need to review the plan with the characters moving around lately.
